Conceive a Child– conceiveachild.com – Conceiving a child can be easy for some couples and difficult for others. Some can do so naturally and others need some professional help and guidance. If you find yourself in the latter group, don't feel embarrassed or ashamed. While it may be more difficult to conceive a child, there are ways to increase the likelihood of pregnancy. Not all of the below methods will work for each couple, but it's worth trying new things--especially if it gets you to your end goal of conceiving a child. The first thing you may want to consider is your nutrition and your health. Proper nutrition can go a long way in preparing your body for pregnancy. Start with having a healthy, balanced diet--including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and foods or beverages rich in calcium: yogurt, milk, and cheese. If you drink caffeine, talk with your doctor. While studies haven't definitively concluded that caffeine affects fertility and pregnancy, your doctor may recommend scratching it from your daily diet. Fish is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids. However, some types of fish contain high levels of mercury, which can stay in your body for up to a year. Be mindful of which types of fish are best for those trying to conceive. And because eating all your needed vitamins and minerals can be incredibly time-consuming and difficult, consider taking vitamin supplements throughout the day. However, don't rely on supplements to get all the nutrients you need. Along with tracking your ovulation cycles, you can also monitor your basal body temperature. This is just another method to track your ovulation. Your basal body temperature is your lowest body temperature, usually when you're asleep or have just awoken. If you're ovulating, your body temperature will raise one half to a full degree Fahrenheit. Most women keep a paper chart by their beds so they can record their temperature each morning, and thus see if there is a rise or a fall in body temperature. If you try all the above and you still haven't been able to conceive a child, visit with a specialist. S/he can help you more fully understand why you can't conceive, what may be preventing you from conceiving, and what you can do to increase your likelihood of conceiving. Remain hopeful and happy, and continue progressing through this journey. |
